You need a first-pass bolt-cutter size before buying. Enter soft-stock diameter in mm. The calculator names the smallest class on this site’s ladder — 8, 14, 18, or 24 in — or returns NO_MATCH. It is not a hardness calculator or a hardened-lock guarantee.
Diameter vs handle length
Longer handles multiply jaw force. Published soft-stock diameters rise with handle class on this ladder. Hardened materials need higher-rated tools even when diameter looks small.

Classes use published VEVOR US soft-stock ceilings checked 2026-09-10: 8 in ≤3 mm, 14 in ≤5 mm, 18 in ≤8 mm, 24 in ≤10 mm. Matching rule: smallest class where max soft-stock ≥ diameter.
When the answer is NO_MATCH
If diameter exceeds 10 mm soft stock, this site returns NO_MATCH. Typical next steps: a larger industrial cutter, abrasive cutting, or a different process. Do not force a 24 in consumer cutter past this screen.
